The Glass Jug has quickly become my go-to spot in Downtown Durham. The staff is fantastic, music is always killer and there is always something new and exciting on tap. An awesome spot to start, finish or spend your entire night. To top it all off, they're dog friendly and are close to many exceptional food options (Ex-Voto has my heart).
We have loved this place since the first day we stepped foot there. All of their beers are clean and tasty. This is the only brewery I’ve found where every single beer they make is good. Definitely would recommend!
There’s a lot of great places to drink good beer in Durham and this place is no exception. Bringing in food is allowed (even encouraged) so it’s a perfect place to sit and drink with takeout from the Durham Food Hall across the street. The covered deck overlooking Central Park is a huge perk and pet friendly, although there are limited seats and they can fill up fast if there is nice weather or live music nearby on the lawn. Beer is really good, I enjoy the Opacity hazy IPA that is one of their standards - plus they have seasonal rotations and a few alternatives for non beer-drinkers. Staff have been welcoming and kind every time we’ve been in.
Great beer in a great setting. Always clean, great atmosphere, and the staff are always genuinely glad to help out with a smile and pleasant conversation.
Add to this that the food hall is directly across the street, and one can enjoy a fantastic meal with fantastic beer. Whenever in downtown Durham I make sure to stop in and have a pint (or three)!
I’ve been to the Glass Jug multiple times, and have always had a great time! It’s in a great location downtown right across from the Durham food hall. The staff has always been super nice, and plenty of great beer choices. You should definitely check it out!
