The Original Q Shack

I thought I reviewed this, but maybe not. The Original Q Shack is vastly superior to the other Q Shack location. This is currently my favorite BBQ place anywhere, and also has quite tasty hush puppies. If you want parking, you might have to arrive later on in the day, as it gets crowded and some of the adjacent lots tow. The music playlist has recently switched from bluegrass to classic country, which is also quite the improvement.

This is you typical counter service restaurant, with a chalkboard menu. Can’t get a better family take out deal than from here. Food is always amazing, and while there are a few healthier options, you go here when you want a calorie buster. The fried okra is usually perfection, but this visit they were a little dry. It’s forgivable considering the service here is always A+, the same folks have been working and running it for years and that type on consistency has kept me coming back for the past 10 years. Easy. Quick. Delicious. You will need a nap afterwards.

Brought my family who was visiting here. We all definitely enjoyed our meals. Three people had the St Louis ribs which were well flavored and more then tasty! I personally had the smoked Turkey which was moist and delicious. Each person had some yummy sides which included fresh coleslaw, homemade mac and cheese, seasoned bake beans,collard greens and of course to die for hush puppies!

Had the chicken and I highly recommend it. Tender, moist and a great flavor. Potato salad is also fantastic. Good, quick service. Will be back.

We got the 3 meat platter with turkey, shredded pork and beef. They give you so many hush puppies! The sides we chose were baked beans and the cheesy spinach. The spinach was surprisingly delicious, and the beans and sauces were awesome. The meats were all very good. They had Cheerywine soda, which I liked. No line when we came in (even though there were plenty of people inside eating), and we had quick friendly service. Definitely will be coming back.
