The food was great, and they provide you with plenty for your money’s worth. Also our server, Willie, was great! He was friendly from the moment he arrived, and all the way through the meal. When we’re in the area again, we’re definitely going to eat here!
We had lunch here today and it was fantastic. The vegetable pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had. We also got a side of grilled vegetables and it reminded me of a trip to Italy we took a few years back. The owner came out and spoke with us kindly as we were finishing our meal. We will definitely be back.
Decided to try this place out. My husband ordered pizza and I ordered the past with "wild" mushrooms. We had warm bread with oil to start and an appetizer that was tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil with toasted bread. Everything was delicious. The tomatoes sauce on the pizza was savory and delicious and might be my favorite pizza sauce ever in NC. The mushroom dish with pasta was absolutely well balanced and delicious. The truffle oil may be overwhelming to some but it was just the right amount for me.
My only complaint was the mushroom pasta wasn't really "wild" mushrooms, just standard button style mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus). It did have truffle oil but that doesn't really make it "wild" mushrooms. And loads of truffle flavor is now synthesized flavor.
I don't like paying a premium price for something advertised/described as "wild" mushrooms when it clearly was not. It's like ordering wild caught salmon and getting pool grown carp for dinner.
I will suggest there's a wonderfully mushroom grower (Haw River Mushrooms) that has a lovely variety of gourmet mushrooms that would definitely take this dish up several notches above button mushrooms.
After noticing the new restaurant and reading others’ reviews we ordered take-out last night. We have been searching for a locally owned Italian restaurant serving delicious food near our home and we have found it! Carne pizza was so good- the pizza sauce is wonderful and the Veal Marsala was divine. Looking forward to our next visit and trying dine-in as the restaurant seems cozy and inviting.
My wife and I loved the former restaurant in this spot so Vici had big shoes to fill, and they did that. The food was great, but the service of Willie (on his first night nonetheless) was even better. We will definitely be back.
Still some logistical and vibe kinks to work out. But that is true of any new restaurant!
