Good bbq done right. Had the chopped pork with baked beans, Brunswick stew and hushpuppies. Didn't care for the Brunswick stew , I prefer my sweeter and thinner, but that my personal preference and I'm not going to hold it against them.
The beans were fantastic...had to get a pint to go with dinner!
I love the charm the place offers. It makes you feel your in a sleepy little town. I could have relaxed there all day enjoying th que if my girlfriend would have let me
Cant wait to go back and try more!
I travel all over eastern North Carolina and eat barbecue as much as I can. This barbecue sandwich is hands-down my favorite. The folks that run the place are super nice too.
The barbecue was great. The beans and slaw were ok. Made a nice picnic dinner at our campsite. Too crowded to eat there.
A few of my colleagues took me out to lunch here, and it's legitimately some of the best pork I've had in the area. The chopped pork is good as is, but their vinegar sauce is really next level. The beans have some very interesting flavors in them (can't quite pin the spices, but I know I've tasted them before), and they are absolutely delicious. I also had the collard greens, again, delicious. Lastly, the hush puppies, fried to perfection.
Not a fan of smoked BBQ, the chicken ,slaw and fixing was delicious, service was great. I had never tried smoked BBQ before and it isn't a taste for me but all the other food was great. Will go back and get the chicken and fixings.
