Worth EVERY penny! They aren't lying when they say that this is the BEST Mexican restaurant in the Triangle. From the first taste of the freshly roasted salsa to the mind-blowing experience of the delectable Honey Chipotle Chicken Fajitas, every morsel consumed was quite pleasing. Heck, I don't even generally like beans, but I found myself not wanting to leave even one in the bowl! Well done, Uncle Julio!
Very good Mexican! This was my first visit to Uncle Julio's, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good dining experience.
The good:
-- excellent quality ingredients
-- incredibly delicious guacamole
-- different taste than most Mexican, in a good way!
-- service was friendly and attentive, but not obtrusive
-- nice interior and atmosphere
-- large portions at dinner (haven't been there for lunch)
The not-so-good:
-- host station staff not as friendly and attentive as other staff members
-- pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants, but upscale for Mexican and not unreasonable considering the quality and portion size (at dinner)
I thought it would be high prices and small plates, BUT after getting the enchiladas I am pleased to say I was wrong.
Everything has a unique flare to it.
The chips were hot, thin and crispy. The salsa was smoky & (lightly) spicy. The portions for the enchiladas were generous. Quite tasty, overall.
Don’t let the $$ fool you. This place is worth checking out!
This place is great! Ate at Uncle Julio's for the second time today and the food is excellent as is the service. I brought a friend here specifically because I enjoyed it so much the last time. It is a little pricier than other Mexican restaurants but is of far higher quality and value.
I've often said to friends that Mexican food usually tastes the same to me at any restaurant. Uncle Julio's proved me wrong, happily so!
Starting with the chips and salsa, a Mexican food staple. The chips are fresh and the salsa is so good I was shocked. The quacemole is made fresh table side and is quite delicious.
The entrees are excellent, just the right amount of spice and very flavorful. You can tell it is of much higher quality than most places.
The atmosphere is very nice, mid-to-upper scale, and the service is efficient and friendly. When I was seated today I told them I was meeting a friend. They seated me and asked for my friend's name so they could keep an eye out for him. A simple touch, but a nice one.
I have only been here for lunch, so I cant speak to the drink quality but otherwise I highly recommend Uncle Julio's and will be back!
This place was amazing. The service was great. The drinks were good. BUT THE FOOD..... the food was delicious!! Don't let the $ scare you away... you will not regret it.
Everything from the chips and salsa, table side guacamole to the fajitas were delicious.
One of the best lobster tails my wife ever had, it was so well seasoned. Zero complaints.
