Vegan soul food. I love this place! The atmophere and vibe is so sweet. Food is fresh and amazing. A true cultural gem. The world needs more places like this one.
The brunch isn't my favorite, but the regular menu is phenomenal. The mac and cheese and potato salad are soooo good!! Everything is delicious and the food is filling without being heavy. I can't wait to try the desserts!
Although I'm not vegan, the food here is so very very good. It's a place where you can taste the love and care put into every bite. I will be back!
I am not vegan but decided to stop I because it was on my way home and had great reviews. The food was great! I got the curry chickpeas with rice, cornbread, collards, and plantains. The curry has a great flavor and was nice and spicy, but I wished there was more of a sauce. It was a little dry. The collards were perfect! I got a nicely sized portion and the flavor was really nice. The plantains we're good, but I had just recently had the same kind from Alpaca and I liked those better. SVC's version were still good though! The cornbread was a little dry, but maybe that's an occupational hazard of vegan baked goods. I am not sure.
I would recommend this place, even if you're not vegan. The flavors of everything were amazing, and the portion sizes were great. The price was what I would expect. My dish totaled to $12.90 after tax. There were sandwiches and salads for under $10 though. If there were one thing I could improve, it would be the dryness of some of the dishes.
