Our table of 5 shared the Pimento Cheese, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Hush Puppies appetizers - all were wonderful!
A friend and I shared the Cheese Fries, Buffalo Cauliflower, and Brussel Sprouts as our meal...there was PLENTY of all 3, and they were delicious! The rest of our table had Pork Chop or Steak Frites, and they very much enjoyed theirs as well. The wine, cocktail, and beer menu also had a decent selection.

My wife & I had the 3 course Valentine's Day special.

*The pecan praline salad was perfectly portioned although i expected a little more presence from the agave-mustard dressing. Still it was delicious.

*The She-Crab soup was spot on perfection. Just the right amount of buttery cream to accommodate the crab meat and remain emulsified without separating, which shows textbook heat control. Once the green onion was steeped in the soup, the flavor of the crab married beautifully.

*The Chateaubriand was cooked to proper temp at rest, which many places cook well beyond. It was clear in flavor that the vegetables had been prepared to bring about a medley of distinct separate flavors without melting into a single stew. It was refreshing to taste each item in itself and how it contributed to the main dish. My only complaint was with the plating/presentation of the main course. The entree was described as being served with a list of all the vegetables, and my particular plate was missing the carrots & parsnips. I did get some from my wife & they were very good.

*Cast-iron skillet brownie with home-made ice cream: genius and so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes i had to take a picture of it to remember how awesome it looked. It did not last long on our table, especially after the first bite which was warm and comforting with a slight crust from the skillet that only true scratchmade homecooking can provide. I will definitely be back as there is clearly a lot of thought and skill involved in the preparation of their food. It is refreshing to know that there is a true to heart kitchen here in the Winston-Salem area.

UPDATE 2019: Definitely a go to for a romantic evening. Service is exceptional. I was really impressed by receiving an update on my reservation asking me if I would mind an earlier slot.

Sophisticated take on traditional food.

The smokehouse burger is one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The grilled fillet is also really good.

Service was great and the staff really knew the menu.

There is outside seating, which is always a bonus.

The Food was amazing and the appiteizers had delicious creative spins on them and was much enjoyed. The owners were unbelievably welcoming and friendly. The vibe of the restaurant was warm and inviting with great music and decor. I made a 2 hour drive just to go! Great kids menu and something everyone in your family can enjoy!

I won't lie, I wasn't expecting much when we went here but I was blown away. The food is delicious. The wait staff was amazing. Very friendly thorough but not overbearing. The menu is wide and encompasses several varieties of food. I strongly recommend the French dip sandwich. Delicious. I plan on getting it again when I go back. Can't say enough about this place and definitely plan on returning. I think we found our new favorite place.
