Tex-Mex Back Road Grill

It was a very good meal in a small friendly restaurant. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to your table. The seating was adequate though there aren't many tables inside.

I got the fish tacos with Pico de Gallo salsa. I had a choice between corn and floor tortillas and I chose corn which was a good choice. I got three tilapia tacos for a good price. It was very fresh and had a good flavor.

My daughter ordered a quesadilla with fries. We also shared the loaded waffle fries. It was a good experience and we'll definitely be back. Maybe we'll eat outdoors at one of the tables outside if the weather is good.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: What is surprising place to find such incredible eats. The food here is fresh and delicious. For our family, it is Taco Tuesday every single week. However, the specials of the day are so on point it's crazy. Seriously though, you'll drive up and not believe that a good meal is in store. It is!!

UPDATE: AWESOME RESTAURANT ALERT: I love finding hidden gems in our community. My recommendation to you is STILL Tex-Mex Back Road Grill here in Gastonia. There menu is incredible and affordable. This restaurant sits just north of Forestview High School on Union Rd. Our family LOVES Taco Tuesdays. My personal favorite there is breakfast time. Seriously. Today, they were SLAMMED. The line was almost out the door as we walked in with 9 of us. Not only did everything come out in an excellent amount of time. The order was 100% correct. It was hot and delicious and... I don't mean to sound all food snobbish but it is pretty cool when French Toast is plated with care. Well done. GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!

Best breakfast in town. Lunch and dinner also very good. Awesome quick service.

My 2 favorite days of the week are Taco Tuesdays and Meatloaf Mondays! Great food at competitive prices. Well worth the drive.

Truth be told I'm hesitant to rate this restaurant well for fear it may get more business and longer lines. This place is a hidden gem. The food is fantastic and fresh. The prices are great and less than expected for fresh food. Lastly the staff is incredible.
