Not great. It's been a long time since our last visit to Moonshiners. And it will be some time before we return. My wife had the sweet tea brine chicken and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes were good, chicken was good, nothing to write home, or a great review about. Because I had a bad steak the last time I ate there I decided NOT to have one again even though steakhouse is in the name of the restaurant. So chicken tenders it was for me. I thought how can they screw that up. Wrong, overcooked, dry to the point that my cheek is cut up because of it. Oh, and the fries, undercooked and floppy. Service was ok and our waitress was attentive enough. Even though the salad was forgotten until the meal came. I really was hoping to post a better review here as we need more choices in Robbinsville. However growing pains, new management (again), and new owners have really hurt this restaurant in my opinion. I will try it again, but will likely wait until I see some more favorable reviews.
Nice place to stop in for a meal. They were out of several items on the menu but what they served was great. I was taking a scenic route to Atlanta and was pleased to find an independent eatery with a nice view of the local area. Enjoyable for sure.
Nice little place....food was good, however service was not the best. I understand the place is still kind of new and maybe has some kinks to work out. I can understand that my meal took a little long to come out, as a good steak can take time to be cooked correctly. But good help is hard to find, especially in a small town like this. And our server wasn't the most attentive. It took her a while to come to our table when we sat down and It took 5 minutes to get me steak sauce and ketchup once my meal came out.
That said, I still give this place 4 stars....we met and chatted for 10 min with the owner. Super nice guy and they are really trying hard to make this place a success. And this place has sooooo much potential!!! With it being part of the motorcycle inn that is next door and all.
I will say this, I still recommend to come try the place . The atmosphere is nice and the food is good. Just have some patience.
I plan on staying at the inn next time we come up here to go to the dragon.
The place was really nice. Food was ok. Staff was very friendly. Menu was basic. Not a bad spot overall.
Not as good as we remembered. The menu is limited and two of my group described the steak as bland. The wait staff is very pleasant but service was slow. The garden salad was mostly iceberg. Great casual atmosphere, but I'm unlikely to return.
