I absolutely LOVE this place. Staff is always friendly, dining room is always clean. I get the Seafood Platter every single time and it is ALWAYS perfect. Fish is always fresh. 5 star!!!
Bayside Seafood Family Restaurant is a good exemplar of the old-school fried seafood/homestyle cooking joint that was probably once far more prevalent. The interior is quite dated but the servers are friendly, and the menus are huge. In addition to numerous breakfast offerings, you can find plenty of fish, shrimp, crab, or clam offerings in sandwich, platter, or combo form. The servings sizes are rather generous, too: a large fried flounder/shrimp combo can easily feed two.
Unfortunately, the food leans toward bland. Be prepared to liberally apply pepper and/or sauces to get much flavor out of it. While the hush puppies rate A-OK, the fries are disappointing.
If you plan on getting takeout and adding additional seasonings at home, then Bayside is a good value and the first name that should come to mind when you have a fried seafood craving. As a dine-in option, it's a tad depressing, but you could do worse.
The wait staff and cashier are very friendly. It's a nice homey restaurant with plenty of menu options. But the fried trout and shrimp are just ok. And my son's turkey and cheese sub was put together kind of sloppily. Although he still enjoyed it. The food is good and decently priced so I will return, but it's nothing spectacular.
We always get fresh, hot food and friendly service at Bayside. They have an extensive list of vegetables and stuff besides seafood. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ample parking. The parking lot is only accessible from the east bound lanes of Wendover Ave so plan your route carefully if you aren't familiar with the area. Worth the trip! The place is old and could use a remodel, but that's part of the charm.
I have only been here once, so I can only vouch for the one meal I have tried. The place is small but welcoming..I had the spaghetti and salad...the salad was great
. The spaghetti not my favorite, but not horrible either.. The server was sweet and a fast, hard worker. I liked her a lot.
