Don

Don has great food served in fired cast iron bowls, I love it, but it’s important that you know that Don doesn’t have the hole in the wall Japanese food that you crave sometimes. Like the classic hibachi shrimp, broccoli and rice is not really their style. I love it but it just doesn’t give me the satisfaction I’m used to. Also, make sure you mix your food in bowl constantly, as it is still cooking when it arrives and the rice will harden.

Don is not a sushi joint. This place has great Japanese food that is not sushi. Japanese people have a wide & varied cuisine in which rice & noodles are dominant. Don offers what I feel is wonderfully genuine and deliciously prepared Japanese food in bowls of rice or noodles. The flavors are a savory delight. My favorite so far is the salmon on hot rice with vegetables served in a stone bowl so hot it is placed in a wooden tray to bring to the table. The cha was served in individual kettles (keeps it nice & hot), service was flawless, & the meal came with a small dish of ice cream afterwards.

I had bibimbap and hot sake. GOOD LORD IT WAS AWESOME. We will absolutely be going back to try more dishes.

Great place. Exactly as described. One could add "japenwse inspired comfot foods". Wonderful selection of foods, atmosphere is cozy, and staff were very attentive. Should've taken a pic or two.
