Yes, it's in a gas station. Yes, you should disregard any pre-conceived notions about it's quality. It's good food, good prices, and large servings.

The best Thai food I've had in WNC. I first found this place while slightly lost and have never been so happy to have made a wrong turn before. Ignore the fact that this restaurant is in a gas station, the food is fantastic!
Most chicken and veggie dishes are under $7 (you can make it beef, pork, or shrimp for only $1 more), and the portions are massive. I have had various dishes and never been disappointed. My boyfriend and I just had a soup, order of spring rolls, a noodle dish, and a curry and we have leftovers of everything.
You can order dishes with varying levels of spice, but I prefer mild-medium and adding some of the spicy fish sauce.
The owners/chefs are friendly, especially the woman.
Tasty Thai is quite out of the way for me, but I will continue coming back because it is worth the drive and every penny spent.

I appreciate Tasty Thai but for my favorite dishes - the curries - the curry broth is so watery and watered down it lacks flavor and a palatable consistency. It’s several dollars less expensive than other local Thai restaurants but I’d rather (and do!) pay more for a much better meal. If the curry paste wasn’t watered down so much it would be good!

I love this local restaurant! I live and work right down the road and its convenient and affordable for me! The portions a huge and you definitely get what you pay for! I don't like spicy food and they always double check for your order to get it right. Don't blink or you may pass it!

Much better food than expected given its location in a gas station. Good portions, but we ordered Thai Hot, and it was mild at best. I would return.
