Another great trip Ed.....my wife and I are hooked. It can be overwhelming when visiting the beautiful Smokys and trying to figure out which river is the best to fish at any given time. Your knowledge and commitment to stay on top of local conditions is the difference for us as a "fishing couple".

Recently had the privilege of fly fishing with a gentleman out of Whittier N.C.
He runs the Blue Chip Fly Fishing company. I had been fly fishing before with moderate success at different locations but on the day I fished with Eddie I had a much better day. Eddie is a very good guide. He is a very good teacher. It doesn't matter if you are a seasoned fly fisherman or a novice. You will find your trip with Eddie to be fun filled event. He is very patient with all his customers and has a great sense of humor that will make you feel at ease. He is good about reminding you in a friendly way on the techniques he is showing you. He never gets upset of mad at anyone.
Eddie took me out one day on the Tuckaseegee river near Webster N.C. and I caught a very nice 19" trout along with several other 16"and 14" fish also. That one day we caught over 50 fish!
Eddie Hudon is an excellent guide, very skilled and you will have a great time fishing with him. I would recommend anyone to give Eddie a try!

I am an avid saltwater angler from Florida and a fly fisherman I am not. In fact I have never fly fished in my life so I thought I would give it a try. When I first spoke to Eddie, I asked if I could spin fish instead and he said he could accommodate so I booked a trip with him in May 2019. When we met Eddie he was an instant likeable guy who I felt was a past friend. We began our scenic drive with excellent conversation and before I knew it, we were driving upwards in the mountains until we arrived at Abigail Snowbird River. It was beautiful and Eddie had waders to fit my large body and my size 14 feet. He asked if I would like to try fly fishing first and I agreed. I could tell Eddie was up for the challenge when after some quality coaching and explaining all of the flies and what size leader etc he was using and why he handed me the rod, coached me with enthusiasm and I began catching fish! Not just fish but trout of many species and a lot of them! My trout of the day was a wild 18" Rainbow Trout that is considered a trophy! It was an experience I must say that was not expected on my part. Eddie is an amazingly skilled fly fisherman, teacher and motivator with a calmness about him that allowed me to relax, learn and have an above average productive day! I will be back to fish with Eddie! Eddie thinks of everything and I did not have to bring anything with me at all! He had snacks, protein bars, water, drinks and all the fly fishing equipment was the best available! There were no competing fishermen around us and the solitude and beauty was absolutely amazing. Eddie, I want to thank you for a trip of a lifetime! Thanks and see you soon!! Brock

My first encounter with Eddie was in April of 2018 when they had the worst rain storms in 10 years! I thought, this will definitely be a washout. But due to Ed's knowledge of the area we went to great little stream and caught little native trout for hours.

The experience was so much fun that I convinced my Wife Mary who has never fished in her life to come with me to visit with Dottie and Eddie again. By the way, they're hospitality is outstanding very friendly and fun to be with.

I should mention that I am disabled having trouble walking and fishing with one hand. Again, due to Eddie's knowledge of the area he was able to take us to spots on rivers that were conducive to my situation. He is very patient and helped me every step of the way. Which produced 22 trout over the course of our stay. and Mary on her first trip out caught 6 trout with Austin Shoemaker another guide and friend of Eddie's. All-in-all, I would recommend Blue Chip and Eddie Hudon to anyone looking to have fun and catch a lot of fish. Thank you Dottie and Eddie for the wonderful experience. We will definitely be back again. John and Mary

We have fished with Eddie on several fall trips to the Smokies. Eddie is extremely knowledgeable but more importantly he is patient, kind, fun and a joy to spend time with. We have always caught fish, including some real beauties, and we have always learned new techniques when we have gone out with him. This November we have signed up to have Eddie give my sons their first fly fishing experience. Can’t wait! He is the best.
