Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q

This is always our first stop when we get to NC. I can never get enough of the BBQ, hushpuppies, & sweet tea. Even when it's busy the food is delivered fast. My husband chooses the chicken over the BBQ..he is not southern raised. We always take some pints back to the west coast when we leave.

Very good bbq. Busy location but fairly fast. Sweet tea excellent.

Good NC BBQ & fixin's. Warning: the sweet tea is very sweet. They offer a half-sweet.

Staff was really friendly and great service. For some reason the food did not taste the same as the one we normally go to on Jones Sausage Rd. It was still really good but something just tasted different about it.

We always enjoy the food but tonight was different. The staff member was not familiar with the menu and incorrectly told me our order, a combination shrimp and BBQ plate, and a combination Chicken and BBQ plate, didn't include hush puppies even though they were shown on the menu board so we had to pay additional money to get them. When we got home with our order we noticed when we opened the bag our items were spilled into the bottom of the bag and the Cole Slaw and Baked Beans were covering the Chicken n Shrimp, and BBQ.
I guess I should have expected this after seeing several of the staff members laughing and cutting up; it was a party atmosphere.
