White Swan Bar-B-Que & Fried Chicken

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Food is truly North Carolina BBQ.

Stopped for lunch on the way down I -95. Everything was amazing - food was tasty, service was quick and friendly! Would definitely go back if in the area!

White Swan is so much more than BBQ. Talk about history. Have a rest at one of their tiny houses. You have got to try that potato salad and ribs but anything off their menu is delish Ask Mr. Parker to turn on that fancy washer! What a cool place!

This place is hard to beat. I can sense the reviews about its age and "cleanliness" but any of those people must not be used to down home local southern places. The best food I get from a place with wood panel walls and news paper clippings of their achievements everywhere. The menu is simple and the food is an absolute delight! They do accept cards, which some may worry about with a lot of local places, and while this place may seem like its one-off, they have a good few locations! Always try to come by once a month if possible!

The White Swan - today’s journey was 338 miles in 8 hrs. with several stops along the way including this one at the White Swan for lunch. When we travel we try to find those mom & pop restaurants that give the local feel. This was truly one of those places.

Holly and I chose a six top for a place to sit and while there, a few people decided to join us. They ended up including the gentleman who handles all of the refrigeration needs of the restaurant and as we were sitting there talking they were telling us about the owner and how funny he is.

Well, he showed up at our table and they were right. He’s not only the restaurant owner but he’s also the town mayor and the town comedian from what I could gather. It was a great start for lunch with wonderful food, barbecue of course, good waitress service, and a lot of entertainment. We love being on the road.
