The BEST country food anywhere around. Best cabbage I've had in my life. Fresh fried food on the spot. Tons of veggie choices. Now, they have dessert too.

This place is just great. Food tasted like someone with blessed hands cooked this food. I didn't need any salt or pepper it was seasoned perfectly.

This is the perfect example of some back home cooking, right here. Jessie Bells had the atmosphere, the attitude, and the genuine feeling of a soul food restaurant. The man that served me had the "Everyone's welcome" attitude and he meant it. He wants you to eat the best food on Vernon avenue, which they provide time and time again. EAT HERE! Even if you have lived here and you are skeptical, eat here. If you're passing through and wanna stop for a quick meal with soul and a kick, eat here. If you have never even heard of soul food, eat here. This place is amazing.

I have to say I was impressed with the quality of the food. My meat was fried to order, macaroni and cheese was delicious, my herbed potatoes were good too but they were cold. The hush puppies were ok to say they weren't homemade. Overall, a great experience and meal. The people are friendly and greet you with a smile. It feels like home
