Midwood Smokehouse

The pulled pork has a nice Smokey flavor but had some heat in it. I'm not a fan of the barbecue sauces. Mainly because I'm a Florida boy and I like more of the Sunny's sweet bbq sauce.

My husband loves barbecue so we decided to stop by here while we were in Charlotte. I ordered the 4 oz grilled salmon for $12, which was decent and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was dry so I decided to get the smoked vegetable, which was absolutely delicious. I was surprised they used fresh vegetables instead of a frozen medley. My son ordered the cheeseburger for $9 and it was a very decent size. He also ordered the mac and cheese and liked it. Different taste buds I guess. My husband ordered a half a slab of ribs and fries for $16. He thought his ribs were okay but not the best he's had. We are from the south so we've had some pretty good barbecue.

The North Carolina vinegar sauce wasn't really to my liking. My favorite barbecue sauce is usually the Carolina mustard sauce, which was just okay. I was surprised that I wasn't a big fan of it. The house sauce is actually really really good. It has a sweet taste to it. The waitress was really nice and so was the host, even though they forgot to call us when it was time for us to come in. Overall, pleasant experience.

Food was fabulous. Great southern BBQ joint in Charlotte! A must check out place. We’ll definitely be back to get some ribs. Service was amazing as well!

Food was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful the only thing I would comment is that they need better high chairs that fit toddlers. They only had 1. Not enough for that size establishment.

Get. The. Ribs. That's all there really is to say!! Love the sauce options, too. And service was SUPER quick. If you're in a BBQ mood, definitely give Midwood Smokehouse a try! You won't be disappointed.
