I've been twice and realize I am a creature of habit because I ordered the same thing both times. The pulled bbq sandwich is very good. I didn't love the breading on the fried squash, it was pretty bland and could definitely use some seasoning. The building is pretty old so it certainly not the fanciest spot in town but a great option for us vegans that have so few. On both visits it took a while for someone to see us and seat us. Today I waited for about 5 minutes and then decided to use the restroom before waiting another 3 or so minutes. I didn't visit at busy times either time, so perhaps a door alert or something would be helpful. They have a nice grocery area with some vegan items that can be hard to find locally. I will most certainly be back.

What a find!! I was just in NC for a bit and searched a vegan place. I’m so glad I encountered this one because the food is. So. Great! these pictures are form the second time I visited. I’ve gotten burgers, fried pickles, steak and cheese hoagie, milkshakes (NICE AND THICK), and ice cream cones! Honestly, if I lived near this place, I’d be broke. So delicious! Of course, it’s not too too healthy but once in a while won’t hurt! 10/10 must stop if you’re driving somewhere and Charlotte is near!

The bean bowl was pretty good and the sauce was just as good. My server could have had a better attitude but overall made sure we had what we needed. The cooks seemed to be very helpful with customers with special request.

Love it... The atmosphere was beyond my expectations! I met the owners & they really made sure my Wife & I experienced the best experience of eating at Bean. They also took the time out to education us more on living a vegan lifestyle. Thank you again for the awesome experience. Looking forward in the future to have a bean on the Southside of Charlotte????

The place by itself looks old or maybe it's a concept for a vegan restaurant. But if you're vegan, you probably will not care about the way how this place looks. We tried pimento cheese, which was very good. For the entree we had spicy pork barbecue bowl, it was something different, because even pork was made from soy it tasted pretty real. We also ordered mushroom "Po Boy" with the side of fried pickles, which didn't really worth the price, it tasted good, but nothing special at all. Majority of the food there is fried, so read the menu carefully. I will recommend the place for a casual lunch or dinner, and I will definitely come back to try the Cowboy burger. Also stuff was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, which is especially nice considering we got one our before closing. Thank you ????????
