Hickory Tavern

My dad's favorite place for pool. We drive from Gastonia just for the pool on Friday nights. Great people and hostess was extra nice and holds the door for you coming in and out. Our 1st waitress wasn't do nice but some how we ended up with a different one and she was awesome.

Great hamburger and large beer for under $20 with a nice tip. Nice bartenders who actually introduce themselves to you. A nice touch.

We dined the Sunday following ciaa with a party of 8. The staff was friendly and the service was great. We ordered apps and they were delicious. The oysters and shrimp were amazing. Then we ordered dinner which consisted of everyone ordering steak. About a half hour later the waitress informs us there is no more steak. We asked for the manager and she was very very pleasant. She understood our frustration, called another hickory tavern to see if they had steak. Thankfully they did. She asked them to reserve steaks for us and also took a percentage off our bill for the apps. This manager went over and beyond for us and did it all with a smile.
