Food was A1 delicious, juicy just fantastic. However, the service my family and i received was not great. We waited over 20 minutes for drink orders non alcoholic. Then almost an hour before we got food. The kicker was this was a week day night and they weren't busy. People around us with different servers were getting their food ours just wasn't. She was sweet just not made for serving or maybe she had a bad night. If it wasn't for theservice it would have been 5 stars
This was my first experience with one of Charlotte's new Crab restaurants, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The atmosphere at Crab Du Jour is wonderful! Very clean, plenty of seating (including bar seating), several TV's and excellent service. However, the food was just OK. I ordered the create your combo, with 1/2 lb. Snow Crab Legs & 1/2 lb. Shrimp with garlic butter seasoning. The combo comes with 3 red potatoes and 1/2 ear of Corn. Food is served in a plastic "steam bag," but once I opened the bag it was like everything got cold. I'd say it's definitely worth a try, unless you've already found your go-to Crab restaurant.
About time I don’t have to drive to crazy seafood in Savannah, GA. If you try other places in NC you will be disappointed. This place is the bomb and price is good. I have had many in the past from Charlotte to Atlanta and to Raleigh. This place is the best out of them all. You know it’s good when you walk in and see the inside decoration. Seafood fitting.
Since the opening, I’ve been back multiple times. We were told by the manager the first time that Crab Du Jour is owned by the same owner as King Crab on Independence and the sauces are pretty similar. In the university area, there a few seafood boil restaurants but this is one of the more affordable establishments. Every time I come, I get combo C, which includes a lobster tail, 1/2 pound of shrimp, and a 1/2 pound of snow crabs for only $29.99. Then, you can add any 1/2 pound of full pound of other seafood items! I personally like the option to get 1/2 pounds which is different from any other establishments. There are only three different sauces with the Du Jour special being the tastiest. However, if you like really spicy things, the hot isn’t really that hot. It has a nice kick to it though. Their raw oysters were decent and didn’t taste too salty or sandy. They serve them with cocktail sauce and Tabasco hot sauce.
