If you want a real Chicago style wet beef sandwich, go here. Good quality beef sliced nice and thin, great beef broth, and awesome hoagie roll. Place is busy around the lunch time but worth the wait if you have to.

A++ The closest thing you will find to a Chicago hot dog and Italian beef in North Carolina! definitely get a Pizza Puff they are awesome. its like a hot pocket on crack. need to work on fries tho, not a fan they need to be greasy and salty???????????? overall great place to go

We had been searching for a good Chicago-style pizza in the western part of NC (Charlotte / Hickory / Boone / Asheville) for a year. We found Matt's and it is the best by far (in our opinion). We've visited several times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The Italian beef sandwich and the Matt's Chicago pizza are our favorites.

This place really understands Chicago food! So many places advertise Chicago style this or that and don't even come close! They're hot dogs are authentic and wonderful. They're beef sandwiches are a reason for living! The pizza is the best pizza you will have in this area hands down (pro tip, try the thin crust. Deep dish is what tourists eat). The staff is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is wonderful! If you're in Cornelius I highly recommend stopping in and treating yourself to a culinary experience unlike any other in the area!

In town to help family move and found this place for dinner. The pizza and hot dogs were great and the service was just as great. Felt like a new restaurant with how often we were updated on the progress of our meal and asked if we were satisfied. Turns out they've been in business for 18 years and this is just the service they give.
The service was consistent across everyone who we talked to but Rute (sounds like Rudy) was amazing. What an awesome representative for the restaurant. She was so happy to work here and invited us back. We WILL be back. Loved Matt's Chicago Dog!
