Great food...quite filling. And good dessert selection. Friendly staff. Place is relatively small looking but has quite a few tables. Neat atmosphere with various categories of vintage decor. Thank you Guy for visiting.

This is a little place that you may overlook as you speed down Albemarle Rd headed into Charlotte but it is worth slowing down not to miss. The food was so good and they had gluten free bread! Good menu and reasonably priced. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back when we are in the area!

Sat 2/23/19. The food was excellent. We shared Fried Green Tomatoes, and Artichoke Dip. 2 people had the Fried flounder platter and one had the Shrimp & Grits-both very good. Another had a Lettuce Wedge with oysters. There were 2 things I did not like. One-we made a reservation for 6 and asked if we wanted a booth. We arrived promptly at 6 and the booth was still in use. They'd had dessert and had received their bill. We opted to wait but at 6:30 decided to take a table. The Booth people left at 7:35. I realize you can't tell people to leave but Jakes should NOT be taking reservations if they can't honor them. Secondly, we asked for separate bills which did not happen. When we went to the register the cashier separated the main bill. I believe we were charged extra or some items were mixed up with the other couple because it seemed higher. I knew what we had but I didn't want to bring this up in front of our friends. I don't think tax was over 5% so I know our total bill was off.

The was our first visit to Jake's as a coworker recommend it. The spinach and artichoke dip was unique. My shrimp and grits were outstanding. My husband's NY Strip was tender and juicy at medium rare. We took our desserts home...key lime pie and coconut cream...both very tasty. Crystal was our attentive server. We'll definitely be back. Great variety of selections on the menu.

Small but quaint. From the road it just looked like one of those places you have to just try because of the reviews and not the looks. We ordered an appetizer of fried zucchini which was amazing. I had sweet tea which was spot on and very important to me. Then we started seeing the food come out. I was second guessing myself because the prices were high but once we started seeing the dishes I immediately regretted what I had ordered to play it safe, which was the pulled park sandwich(still amazing) but would have absolutely gotten the 27$ steak instead. Portions were almost bigger then the plates. The waitress we had was new but amazing. We are going back to try everything on the menu, no doubts about it.
