The coffee, sangrias, the loaded potatoes and the Cuban sandwich - all reminded me of Key West . Nice little cafe with Cuban inspiration in Ballantyne. Sit at the bar or grab a seat because this place will take you to Little Havana. Menu and drinks were all Cuban inspired. Daily specials. Food cooked and prepped with care and the details (like crispy chopped vegetables in the Loaded Potatoes) are appreciated. English and Spanish speaking staff. I would just go everyday for the Cuban coffee but that’s just me. Casual but nice. No screaming kids or riff here. Lively atmosphere. And they have Red Stripe beer so…they just opened so hopefully they stick around. Prices are reasonable at around 10-15 dollars an item. Foodies come check it out!

Muy delicioso! I came here on a whim for lunch two weeks after their opening. The dining room was about 50% full. The service was efficient, friendly and genuine. The many $10 lunch specials were great value for both the quantity and quality of food. The menu appeared to be mostly standard Cuban fare (don’t expect fancy fusion or “chef inspired” items here). The decor was excellent—one can tell that the owners invested in the appearance of the facility with a nice bar space to boot. We loved our meals (not good for the sodium weary!). Well-seasoned, tender meat and fish and excellent black beans and fried banana. I will absolutely come back here. I can’t wait to try the rest of their many menu items.

Good selection of great tasting Cuban food. The Ropa Nueva was excellent. Vaca Fritta good also. The Paella was very bland. No seasoning. They also have two great seafood dishes: Branzino and Salmon. Both come with good sides. Nice cocktail selection. Only complaint is there are two waitresses that don't speak English. They also don't know the difference between Tequila and bourbon. We had two Spanish speakers with us and the waitress still didn't understand there are different bourbons. Otherwise the service is friendly and solid. I'll definitely go back.

This is the first time i eat here. I am not cuban but my friend is. I really wanted to live a Cuban experience but i didn’t. i would have loved to listen to cuban music while eating a cuban dish. At least, my friend agreed the dishes were the closest to have an authentic cuban taste in town.

The experience was still great, the staff makes you feel important and welcomed, everyone would smile ! 😊

The food was very tasty and exquisite ! My favorite dish was Vaca frita and the brava home made hot sauce 😍

This place is wonderful. I had the Ropa Nueva and my husband had the Havana Peking. The portion sizes were on point, and the meat was tender and cooked to perfection. For drinks we had the Cojito, which was the perfect combination of sweet and minty, with a delicious coconut rim. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean, with a rustic and natural feel. The wait staff were very nice and attentive as well. The ambience was very relaxed and fancy for a great date night to celebrate good news. I can't wait to come back and try everything else that Azúcar has to offer.
