My sister and I dined in here for our first time two nights ago, and the food here was delicious! I ordered the Chicken 65 biriyani, chicken 65 and garlic naan! Everything had so much flavor and the dishes were so colorful and appetizing. Their garlic naan is some of the best I had. It was so thin and had a crispiness to it. I like to dip it in their mint chutney sauce…very flavorful!! The staff was also very friendly and made for an even more pleasant experience! This will be my go to Indian restaurant!! THANK YOU!!
Over the past few months, I feel Curry Gate of South Boulevard in Charlotte has deteriorated exponentially. We visited for lunch today and it was not a good experience.
We got the Paneer Chilli for starters, and Vegetable Manchurian along with Naans for the main course, and a chai. We aren’t very keen on extremely spicy food, so we specifically asked for a 5 out of 10 spice level. But they made it extremely spicy to the point that it made us utterly uncomfortable. The chai was decent but the food overall let us down.
When I had moved to Charlotte, Curry Gate used to be one of the better Indian restaurants, but sadly that’s not the case anymore.
Parking is available outside. Restrooms are inside as well. Service was okay.
I have a bad habit of eating the food before I take a photo of it but I managed to get one. This place has really good food. We showed up right at opening but it started to fill up shortly after we had finished our meal. Curry dishes, chicken tandoori and the samosas were really good. The mango lassi was really refreshing. I got an 8 on the heat scale bc I’m really like that but one thing I can say is that the heat does not take away from the quality of flavor. You get a moderate helping size for your money. The staff are very nice. We’ll back for certain. Really recommend this place to try even if you do take out.
First time trying Indian food, and everything was flavorful and delicious. The korma chicken curry was probably the best food I've ever tried. The dumplings was delicious as well. Cool vibe and great atmosphere, making it hard not to go back and visit.
Curry Gate is always a good idea. My husband and I love their other location so we were excited to try this new location and be able to dine in.
We went with two other friends and shared:
- Veg Momo
- Samosa Chaat
- Gobi 65
- Chicken Makhani
- Chana Masala
- Bhindi Masala
You can't go wrong at Curry Gate. Everything was delicious. I've never been a big fan of Okra, but the Bhindi Masala was my favorite thing we got! You can customize your spice level. We got 4 which is still very spicy in some dishes (the Gobi 65 especially). This is one of the few places in Charlotte you can get momo, so they're a must for me.
This is one of my favorite spots for Indian food in Charlotte. Make sure to check out their new location!
