Southern Pecan - Gulf Coast Kitchen

Went for lunch, and I was very impressed! Not crowded, which is a plus in the Phillips place area. Had a delicious shrimp poor boy, and a bowl of gumbo. Two thumbs up! Also, the inside has a great, gulf coast/blues bar vibe. The open floor plan felt warm and spacious, and there was obvious consideration, and precautions taken, with the booths, and overall layout, to mitigate risk in the Covid era.

Absolutely great. Definitely the best fried shrimp I have had since moving here from Mississippi long ago. Wesley was our awesome waiter who was extremely attentive. Can't wait to go back again and try more dishes.

Service here was great and loved the menu. If you don’t get their pecan coffee, you are missing out! You can smell it long before it gets to your table. A great spot for lunch or night out.

I’m excited about this restaurant and it’s potential. Our serving was awesome - great personality! We had the oysters, chicken and dumplings, and pimento cheese and dip. Every thing tasted good . I will say on the oyster accompaniments the cocktail sauce had a bit too much ketchup and the white sauce was just okay - I think a bit more of a vinegar taste or something to give it a little more wow factor. For the area the restaurant is representing overall the food could use more flavor - that’s one of the best things about NOLA. Looking forward to our next visit !

WOW. Amazing food. Reasonable prices. Warm atmosphere. I could go on but I'll just recommend you go try this gem NOW! Most people have stopped reading by now but if you haven't, let me tell you about the best country fried steak I've ever had. And red mashed potatoes! Wife had chicken and dumplings! Raved about them. Don't wait. Go now!
