In town for work and I had no idea where to get a good dinner. Driving around the charming downtown area I passed Wolcott's and loved the look and feel and outdoor patio. The menu selection is comparably small- I chose the gourmet burger and it was quite possibly the best burger I have ever had. Charcoal grilled- the flavor was amazing. The homemade bread was outstanding- salad was delicious. I ate on the patio- delightful and service was impeccable. Will return if I am ever back in town.

I have lived in Southern Pines for 9 years. I had lunch for the first time today at Wolcott's. I was blown away. The Cuban was the best I have ever had and I lived in TAMPA for 8 years. The homemade chips were to die for and the lobster bisque was great. Fantastic wine too. I will tell all my friends that tend to go to the same ol places. Love Wolcott's

Never heard of this place from anyone I know, the wife found it on some reviews. From the second we walked in it was different, there is no greeting area, you are basically standing right next to three tables right by the door. That must have really sucked last night to be one of those three tables because I felt the draft from the open door when we left and it was really cold last night. Inside the place is small, maybe 15 tables. The menu is small also, if I remember right it was 6-7 appetizers, 3-4 salads, and 7 entree's. We were a party of 4 and from the second I saw the menu, I didn't really like any of the pairings, the main protein looked good but mixed in a way I don't really care for. My wife was the only person to actually order a meal, she got the chicken and enjoyed it but it was nothing special. To my surprise our friends who ordered first must have been thinking the same exact thing I was because they both ordered appetizers, so I went that way and ordered one too. My wife enjoyed her wine, I enjoyed my perfectly made old fashioned. We just ended up drinking and catching up with our friends. The staff was great but I wouldn't go back. The place was way too small and way to expensive for the selection/atmosphere. I'm down to spend way too much for food, but you better entertain me or something. I can think of several other places in southern pines to eat that aren't as expensive with better selection and a better atmosphere.

This was our second time at Wolcort's. We went a few months ago on a whim without a reservation and thoroughly enjoyed it. This time was a weekday evening birthday dinner, also on a whim and without a reservation. The experience was just as good as thelast time! I highly recommend, but as it is a small place, you may need a reservation if you go on a weekend. Overall, will definitely go back a third time in the future!
