The Highway Diner

Opens at 6am, convenient when you need to be out and around early. Good service, food all right, usually quick & efficiently delivered. Nothing gourmet, sometimes noisy, but reliable.

Awesome place to eat. It was very busy, but we got a server right away, took care of us and got our food with in 10 minutes. My broccoli cheese soup was delicious and as well as my sandwich. Everybody else in my party, liked their food. Decor is nice, prices are reasonable, friendly and very efficient servers. In short we had a very pleasant experience here and will come back some other time.

I took away 2 stars for the place being what felt like was on the dirty side. There was also a faint odor that my wife and I did not care for, but it's hard to describe (kind of like old greese). Our waitress was very friendly and she brought us our food fast (as soon as it was up). I had the highway diner burger that had pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes. I enjoyed the burger. My wife and daughter said that they really liked the homemade chips.

It was my first experience here. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was hit and delicious (we had 2 different entries and a dessert)! The prices are very reasonable! This has become my go-to restaurant in Rocky Mount.
