“I had a fantastic experience at tidewater oyster bar. The oysters were fantastic we had oysters Rockefeller and another cajun style and they were yummy. They also have out door seating. Our server Michelle, really knows the menu and she was so nice and hospitable. I can't wait to go back again.”

“We came here for dinner. This place is awesome! Food was absolutely delicious! Prices were awesome and very good size portions! Kids meals were very well priced. A couple of us had fried seafood. Reminded me of calabash style seafood (perfectly fried). The shrimp and grits were superb and were more like a high end restaurant. Something for everyone here. The staff was so friendly. Can’t say enough nice things about our waitress Madison! We will definitely be regulars!”

“My kids love this place. The dough is really good. The staff has been friendly every time we've gone in. The black berry lemonade is flavorful. The mini cakes are fun and tasty. Good food all around.”

“Really good pizza and nachos. Service was a little behind. Ended getting the appetizer and pizza almost the same time and a little slow on keeping up with the drinks. Overall it is a great place to hang out with friends. I do recommend Slice of Life Pizzeria and pub for a go to place.”

“Scallops were dry. Definitely prefer previous Parmesan scallop entree which was much better. Use to include a salad which is no longer included. Beautiful location but food has declined, disappointing.”

“What a beautiful pier. I’ve traveled to wrightsville beach a lot over the years and this has always remained one of my favorite piers - both underneath and on top! Be prepared for the entrance fee when entering. Also, parking can be a bear but this pier is totally worth visiting. It’s close to many hotels, restaurants and a very short drive down from Wilmington. Enjoy fishing off the pier, shopping in the pier store or walking on the beach at sunset. It’s an awesome place to stop by.”

“My mom and me got some lunch here and it was fantastic. I’m going to college close by so I think I will be eating here a lot in the future. The staff was great. I can’t remember our servers name. I want to say Jess. But she was nice and tentative. It was our first time and I will be back.”

“We dined at the Bluewater Waterfront Grill on Sunday evening. The view was great and the live music was a plus. We were delighted with the superb service and food that we've come to enjoy there. Our meals were excellent ! The stuffed salmon as well as the Bluewater Mixed grill dinners were delicious. They were served in good time and served hot. The chef(s) did a great job with food presentation with good portions. Our waitress Meredith, was / is the epitome of an "EXCELLENT" table attendant. She attended 3-4 tables in our section yet she greeted our party promptly upon our being seated, informing us that she would be right with us. She returned promptly to take our drinks order. I must say that throughout the evening she was timely with taking our orders and just as timely with serving appetizers, main course and desserts. Also, no one had to ask for refills of their drinks. Meredith stayed on top of that as well. We look forward our future visits and to "showing off" one of the best dining restaurants in our area.”

“Edgar Allan Poe themed restaurant, with dishes and cocktails named after the author's works. We had a variety of burgers and they were excellent. The veggie burger wasn't just a frozen patty to accommodate vegetarians. It was fresh made with flavorful ingredients... great choice if you want a veg option. Not a compromise. Excellent old fashioned too. The quality of the old fashioned usually correlates with the quality of the food!”

“Went on a Sunday night, not busy at all. Seated outside right away & had a very simple order-just plain cheese pizza. Waited extremely long with no update until right before it was delivered. Server was very nice & apologized that kitchen had lost our ticket. We were upgraded to a large pizza at no charge. Pizza was average tasting and only 3 stars b/c as we chose to sit outside, we’re very disappointed during long wait to notice many cockroach type bugs scurrying around on railings & floor. Kinda turned us off to eating but I suppose a hazard due to location?”

“We all ordered the shrimp and grits. The chef came out and asked if he could prepare it a few different ways for us. We agreed and he personally brought out two different recipes of shrimp and grits to us. They were incredible! We will go back next vacation.”

“A medium roast coffee and large Brazil bowl for $13 in total was a healer. The açaí bowl is massive, very good and not overly sweet for a fruit filled bowl. The coffee was flavorful and there was a large variety of coffee drinks. Ample indoor and outdoor seating too”

“Wonderful dinner! We walked here from our hotel. Service was great. Clam chowder was some of the best I have had. We also got the bacon covered scallops. Those were delicious. Our main meal was the Hibachi bowl. I would recommend to anyone! Brought half of it home. Everything seasoned perfectly. Monday was family night and kids eat free from 5 to 7. Other side was bar and more adult atmosphere. Andrea was our server and recommend the clam chowder! She was superb.”

“Excellent Steak & Ribs! Beef and pork are what's for dinner! As far as I'm concerned. All of their dishes are fantastic because they have that freshly grilled finish on them. Best ribs in town. Very kind and sweet young girls to help when you get inside. A great experience for me that I tend to do once every weekend.”

“Went for dinner with my girlfriend's family. I had the Killer Veggie burrito which was great and just the right amount of food for one person. My girlfriend's mom calls their taco salad the best she's ever had. The free chips and salsa was also delicious, and the servers frequently checked to make sure we had a full basket of chips. Had a long wait but we took a nice walk on the beach while my girlfriend's parents had drinks at the bar until they were ready for us.”

“Excellent custard! This place is a staple of the island and a must visit any time you are here. They changed to weekly flavor specials, but those are tasty and unique. They do have the standard flavors that can have many different toppings added in to make whatever you're looking for. I haven't tried the hot food yet (every time we visit I get custard) but I've heard it's so pretty good too. We stop in at least 3 times during our week at the beach each year!”

“Notes: Cash only, ~$3 per hot dog, parking can be sparse and you'll need quarters (25 cents per 5 minutes) to feed the meters. Those notes aside, this little shop is adorable and worth the quarters. I moved out of NC and love their North Carolina dog (a take on the classic chili and slaw combo using deli mustard) but can't rightly plug their Chicago dog, having moved to Chicago (it could be delicious, but it's just not a classic Chicago dog). If you're looking for a cheap lunch on the island or just want a really good hot dog, they offer exactly what you're looking for. They offer regular (Trolly) hot dogs, beef dogs, and veggie dogs (if I remember correctly). They then offer a selection of toppings for them, which I must mention the North Carolina and Surfer topping sets as highlights. You then receive your tasty dog as ordered, with an offering of lemonade (should you desire), and outdoor seating (if you're lucky!) or your cozy car running on it's timer. It's just plain old good. It reminds me of discovering hot dog joints run the same way when I moved to Chicago, but with my home-state flair in my favorite place to vacation. Oh! And they're open SUPER LATE! Bonus points from me for that, since now I can grab a late night snack on my vacations (no dieting allowed on vacation, right?).”

“What an absolute pleasure!!!!! The food was exceptional, my family and I, all 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff made us feel right at home and the service was great. Try to get there just before sunset, the views from the patio are incredible. We loved it so much we went back for seconds....!!”

“We had my daughter's bridesmaids brunch here on a Friday morning. Tara took over from another employee who had been totally unresponsive to my requests. Boy, do I wish I had worked with her from the beginning! She got everything lined up so we could eat in the outdoor space and we had it all to ourselves. It was a little warm that day but that wasn't fault of the venue. The food arrived in a timely manner and was excellent. Great place to have a bridesmaid brunch/lunch!!!!!!”

“Friendly front desk staff will keep you updated on your wait with text and phone call, so grab a drink at the well stocked bar. Staff are strong. Absolutely gorgeous views with indoor and outdoor seating right on the pier! Live music. Food is solid if not fantastic. My wife really likes shrimp and grits, and has tried it all over the country. She says this is the best. That's HUGE. Pricing is appropriate for the location, food, and level of service. We WILL be back. Highly impressed.”

“The food, the ambiance, the drinks….everything about this placed is perfect. If you aren't sure what to order, I suggest you start with their fresh guacamole. Don't leave without trying their coconut rice. The place is small and although there is usually wait list, it is definitely worth the wait. You can enjoy a nice drink with a view (since its very close to the beach) while you wait. Parking lot is also small but I always manage to find parking space every time I go.”

“Service was quick and friendly. Everything seemed clean. Got the burrito type of sandwich. Subway is a great choice for fast food subway sandwiches. It's no deli of course, but the prices are good and cheap. Convenient location as well.”

“Waitress was very helpful. When I asked her questions about menu she knew exactly what each item contained. The chef was nice as well. He came over and asked how the meal was. I told him it was great and it was. My only complaint was that it was a little pricey.”
