Jackson's Big Oak Barbecue

I stopped by with a coworker while on a business trip. It was easy to see that the restaurant was the kind of place with good bbq and there were "regulars" chatting with each other. The pulled pork and okra were great! I also had forgotten an itemized receipt for travel expenses, but a wonderful manager Janet, emailed it to me on a different day within a few minutes of my calling. Thank you all for the professionalism in both food and service!

I always makes sure I make a stop at Jackson's Big Oak Barbecue. When I want a quaint and quiet place with a menu that is hard to choose from, it is always there that I go. There is one precious waitress named Tammy, who goes out of her way to make sure you have that sweet welcome feeling. If you want southern food and the best barbecue, then you need to look no further. They have been around for many years and it is not hard to wonder why.

We wanted to go someplace different for lunch today and decided on Jackson's. We haven't been there in years, but after having lunch there today, we will definitely be going more often! Great food, friendly and fast service and great prices. We cleaned our plates! Jackson's is a good old fashioned bbq joint. Highly recommend!

Solid BBQ. Legendary place. Friendly staff. I only wish they would offer brisket. But you can't go wrong with the pork, ribs, chicken, or shrimp. Recommend the banana pudding!

It started well when my daughter said they have the good ice when they delivered our drinks. Eastern Carolina Barbecue fans will be impressed with their sauce. They have a tomato based sauce which is good too, but it pales in comparison. My vote is for the vinegar sauce. Corn nuggets are slightly sweet, crunchy outside and gooey inside. Collards are slightly spicy. And who doesn't love canned peaches. Worth the trip.
