The food was only so so honestly. The service however was excellent. Remember to bring cash because cards are not accepted here.

Always so nice. We don't get to go very often but every time we do, we feel welcome. Thank you for making people who aren't from the area, feel like they are. Blessings to you!

This was quite a little gem that was recommended to us. Breakfast until 2pm?!? Yes please!! If you are looking for down home cooking like your grandmother used to make - this is the place!!
I had the Turkey with Dressing lunch combo ($6.95) that came with cranberry sauce, two sides, hushpuppies, biscuits AND chocolate pudding!!! The Collards tasted like they have been cooking all day! The turkey basically melted in my mouth and the dressing tasted like it was made with fresh cornbread.
I highly recommend Helen's Kitchen for your daytime eating - they close at 2pm because they open at 0500 daily.

Awesome breakfast. Can't beat the price. Not listed but they have a breakfast special, 1 egg cooked to your liking, grits, patty sausage, 2 biscuits, and a tea. $4.02 just the right amount of food. Tastes great everytime. They have plenty of other breakfast items and biscuits too, cheap. Even have oddballs like brains and eggs if you're feeling bold. Lunch is hit or miss. I've been enough times to say stay away from the hamburger steak, they're fries are pretty bland, and some other sides ain't no good, But the country steak is good, turkey and dressing on Thursdays is good, fish is always tasty, just some things for lunch are home made and some things are obviously canned or frozen. If you don't know, just ask the waitresses are all friendly. Great little local joint.
