You know it's good when it's 3 pm and there is still a line out the door. Best ribs I have ever had, juicy and fall off the bone. They have this amazing sweet and tangy sauce that pairs beautifully with their flavors. Mac N cheese was out of their world. Unbeatable price. So glad I discovered this gem.
This is simply home cookin' southern style. The BBQ would not normally be considered as Eastern NC due to the sweetness of the sauce, but I like it just fine. Their pork ribs are simply fabulous. Aside from the collard greens, their pork ribs are a must-have.
They have a buffet, and senior pricing. There is some variation in the outcome of some of the food product from time to time, but they seem to have mostly gotten that taken care of. They have several people on staff cooking. The ordering and check out process is terribly slow, but it is still worth it if you have the time.
I'm still on the fence about overall rating but in short the food was good especially the sides. It's not a traditional Buffet where you walk up and take your own portions. Instead you have go through a line where they serve you. I came in at around 12:30 and it was steady but the line moved quick.
As I said the sides were really good. I had hush puppies, mac and cheese, and corn and they were all seasoned well. The chopped pork by itself was very simple without a lot going on yet the sauce kicked It up a notch. The ribs were also simple but good. Definitely a place I'll go back to when I'm in town.
