Derby Restaurant

The food was amazing. Staff was friendly. What an awesome find.

This restaurant is a corner piece of Mount Airy. I grew up across the street and could remember all the good times I had at the Derby. They serve good olde southern style food. No alchohol served here. Try their hush puppies.

I happened on this restaurant and was pleased to see they had chicken and dumplings as a special on Thursdays. Their recipe is the closest to one I grew up on. I have had pinto's which friends have agreed were worth a visit to this restaurant. The service is very good and also a reason for the high rating.

Great variety of food. Daily Specials Very clean RESTAURANT and bathroom. Prices are comparable to other establishments Handicapped parking, Not sure if you could get a wheelchair in the bathroom. ( Honestly don't think so)Some of the staff is very friendly and helpful and some are not. The food is good and I will go again.

No frills country style food and service. Don't let the dilapidated building fool you. Never had anything but breakfast there but it is always good, like Granny used to make. Gravy and biscuits are on point, coffee goes down easy and the pork tenderloin takes me back to my childhood. Can get pretty crowded on weekend mornings, best time to go is during church on Sundays. Bring a jacket if you get cold easily.
