Cedar Mountain Outpost

This place does a great job of providing a much needed community meeting place, with good food and drink, friendly service... And there's a gas pump that works! Next one is over 10 miles away, I think?

Forgot to mention, mobile carriers offer "network extenders", not to be confused with "network booster". Extenders only need an ISP internet connection to deliver 5 bars of mobile service over your ISP 's router. Even though it's a primary artery and a Federal Highway, with tons of residents living nearby, this stretch of road never gets the mobile tower coverage it deserves.

The Outpost could aquire and turn one of these on for customers.. would be welcome "draw". Verizon gave me mine for free to deal with coverage issues. They retail at around $200.

We visited the Outpost to see some music on one of the most bitterly cold nights last December. The cozy atmosphere was exactly what we needed, the bluegrass was a tonic, and the food was great. Very kid friendly, very much a family atmosphere. Small but good beer selection, delicious pizza.

Came across CMO when traveling with my Dad and dog through Asheville, Brevard and Western North Carolina. Super CHILL place to grab lunch, or a beer on TAP! We didn’t get gas, but they have that too. Sat outside with the dog and enjoyed the fall weather. NICE PLACE CMO is!

I was delighted to find that this place is so much more than a gas station! It's a beautiful quick-serve restaurant and fancy beer/wine store, with tons of seating inside and outside. Plus an espresso bar! They had several different handmade sandwich options that you could grab and go, or they would heat them up for you if you want to stay and sit. They also have some deli sides like salads and chips, as well as a whole beverage department. There's an amazing selection of local beers on tap, plus multiple fridges full of non-alcoholic and other specialty beers, wines, ciders, etc. The inside is spacious, bright, and feels brand new. The outside has several different kinds of seating. They're also dog friendly!

Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area, especially if you're traveling with your furry friend and want to hang out for awhile with a cold beverage and delicious lunch. Google should reclassify them as a restaurant/deli/coffee shop/grocery instead of gas station -- they've got a lot to offer!

Very excited about this place! Great espresso drinks, grab and go breakfast/lunch options, soups, pastries, wide variety of non-alcoholic drink options, beer, and wine. Indoor is open, bright, with a modern vibe. Plenty of outdoor seating. Staff do not wear masks FYI.

I just stopped in for a drink and a snack. They heated up a breakfast burrito for me that was delicious. I also had a Blueberry Lavender Kombucha Tea. Can’t wait to enjoy the outdoor space when the weather is nice.
