Southern Roots Bar & Grille

Do not bother trying to call in a takeout on a Friday night. As one of the barmaids rather snottily told me, they don't bother to answer the phone when they are busy. The food is very good, (I love their chicken salad) and you get plenty of it, especially the seasoned tater tots but the attitude of the help leaves a LOT to be desired. I did not like the fact that my signed receipt sat on the bar for over 15 minutes before that same snotty barmaid finally picked it up. (Anyone could have picked it up and got the numbers off of it.) When she brought my order and I asked her where the drink (kid's menu) was, her reply was you did not ask for it-my response was "neither did you." (She then went and got it, and without saying anything, placed it on the counter in front of me, and walked away without saying anything. (I did tell her thank you.) Older blonde, hair in a ponytail I believe. We will go back, as we really like their food, but I will not place a takeout order again, or sit at the bar.

Fantastic food! Huge portions, great flavors. Fast and friendly service. Can't wait to go back!

I am so happy for the new go to spot. Awesome food and atmosphere. Have tried several different items and have not been disappointed yet! Highly recommend!

What a great experience. Felt like walking into a family event. Everyone was so personable and not fake like they had to be nice to you!! I say that because Sydney behind the bar was a riot. She was not your regular bar tender that says just what you want to hear and asking the normal questions like they want to know you. She was funny and seemed to be genuinely interested in who you are. They all were very genuine. The food was obviously not your run of the mill chain style food. The special sauces and creative twist is refreshing an I appreciate the menu is not so overwhelming. We will be regulars.

Awesome place to eat. Relaxed, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Super customer service! The burgers are the best in the area. Great place to take the kids. They provide several games for the kids to play while the adults can talk. We will be back.

Man have these folks got it right! Great food. Great Service. Awesome atmosphere. What an awesome new place in Monroe. The beauty about it is that you would never know that it’s a new place because they take care of their customers like they’ve been doing this for decades!
