2nd stay. I recommend getting an Outside room. The indoor ones smelt a little musty and like marijuana. Overall for the price you cant complain.

Until the road is fixed in front of this hotel you can't subjectively suggest anything going on at this hotel. The interior is nice and the staff is ok in the main lobby but there's a layer of dust everywhere from the front doors opening and letting in the construction dust. The rooms were standard with all your basic needs. If you're just staying a day and you just need a spot to lay your head and the price is right, this place will do fine... Otherwise, stay off Independence for now, there are better hotels in this price range.

Considering the price point, this inn was decent and generally clean and well-maintained. The one glaring exception was the shower head, which had a great deal of black matter on it. When I reported it, an attempt was made to clean it, though it remained less than ideal. See picture after cleaning. Otherwise, no complaints. The complimentary breakfast was the standard fare.

The motel is undergoing a remodel, and parts are lovely but others need help. The first room we were given had dirt and hair on the bathroom walls and damaged furniture, and flooded overnight from the pipes in the wall. The second room has been much nicer: much cleaner, and no issues with furniture or the bathroom. The main lobby and free breakfast were lovely. I can't in good faith give more than three stars at the moment. Maybe when the remodel is complete the rating would go up, but for the time being I can't.
