Carnitas Mexican Guanajuato Restaurant

Everyone working there genuinely seemed happy to be there and to see their customers. Chips came out with three sauces, one was a very mild salsa so all could enjoy them without being to hot for some. Guacamole tasted fresh, delicious but ask if you want more heat. Again very flavor ful but not overly heavy with jalapeno. The menu had a few gems to try that we haven't seen as well as the traditional selections. The Camerones in cilantro cream sauce was one I have not found frequently, and this one was very good and fresh, lots of medium shrimp, very filling and flavorful. Could lose the tails on them, but I managed to finish the entire thing! Grilled chicken was crispy and juicy. Both meals and the sides were perfect, other than getting all flour tortillas when one of us asked for corn. Plates could have been warmed some more before they were brought out so our food cooled a bit, maybe we were very early in the day, I believe they just opened up. Several of the staff visited our table to make our visit pleasant, great friendly service. Priced very well and we will continue to frequently visit!

I love the food here. The prices are great, very cheap. Extremely authentic food for sure. I love the portions too, not too big or small. My only problem is that they can’t do anything special with a dish. If you want something added or taken off, be prepared to hit a brick wall. Lots of “No’s” will come to you at this restaurant unless you want it EXACTLY the way it comes. Absolutely no wiggle room with your food if you want a change to it. It’s also ALWAYS empty. Like I said, I love the food, so I come a good bit. But every time I’m here, it’s EMPTY. There’s no one ever here. It’s really creepy. And the service could be better.

The food was very fresh. The staff was great. Very good food. The only negative was the chips could have been warmer. Other than that I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
