Banana Leaf

My family dined for the first time at Banana Leaf in Cary NC. I must admit the experience was not at all what I expected from some of the reviews I had read and the star rating with Yelp. The staff was ultra friendly and accommodating. They have a dinner for two special which includes: a choice of soup, an appetizer sampler plate, 2 entrees, and dessert for a nice discount. The food was traditional. The food was prepared and served quickly. We enjoyed some of the dishes more than others. The restaurant was not busy when we were dinning and our waitress was very helpful and kind. I must be honest I was concerned about the ultra low sanitation rating of 90 which I usually check first but due to the reputation I didn't worry but...I should have. I hope they work on improving the score. Overall the food was ok but the service was great.

Got the house lo mein, pork belly with preserved vegetables, and Korean fried wings. Everything was full of flavor and the portions were huge. Would definitely recommend this place for a family or friends night out dinner.

We ordered Peking duck and lobster special entree meal. And the value is incredible. It was delicious and authentic, unlike many Chinese restaurant in America.

It has a very great ambience and atmosphere.
If you are Chinese come in on weekends and it will be just as friendly and rambunctious as home.

If you so prefer to dine quietly come a little earlier on a Friday or Sunday.

Fantastic.

Shared dinner plates with friends, really great food for a good price! The duck is delicious, and the Chinese broccoli is great. Mongolian beef is super as well. All the food is good! Got stuffed as well! The dinner set was a bit too expensive so we decided to pick our own things to eat! Friendly staff and always supplies the rice.

Excellent food for dinner tonight. Our super-friendly waitress stayed on top of everything, even though we had a group of 9. She somehow even got my taciturn four-year-old to talk to her, agree to sit in a booster seat the whole meal, and happily use his manners. What sorcery is this??
