Tangerine Cafe

This place is amazing. I’ve only eaten here twice and they nailed it both times. However, the most amazing thing about them is that they are willing and able to modify their dishes for those on restrictive diets (in this case a heart patient). My mom has recently recently undergone several cardiac procedures and is on a low sodium diet. When I called to ask if they are able to accommodate her needs the counter person confirmed with the chef who ended up making the dish just to suit her. She is so happy to not have to give up one of her favorite meals.

We have eaten here for many years, always solid and tasty Asian basics. Especially for a quick but enjoyable lunch. We add two more reasons to praise them. If you ask for straws for your drinks, you get paper ones, not plastic. And need a take home box? Not Styrofoam, no, one of pressed paper. Three cheers for caring about the environment. Finally, they also give back to causes in their community as a portion of proceeds. Gotta love the combination of great food, environmental caring, and celebrating community spirit.

The food was delicious, our server was polite, professional, and attentive. Inside, was a simple tasteful interior, tables for 2 to 8 were available.
Back to the food: It was atypical, in a good way. The seasoning was refined, the preparation and presentation were top notch. 5 spice levels to choose from and many vegan/vegetarian options for most of the items on the wide ranging menu.

Go here at least once a month for the Macadamia Encrusted Chicken with #3 spice level. It comes in a bowl with perfectly cooked Jasmine rice on the side. It is flavored with curry and coconut, with lots of veggies, onions and red peppers. Thoroughly satisfying. Also love thier mixed salad with house ginger dressing. Portions are ample and service is quick.

Yum!!!!! We love this place. It’s so great that they have clearly labeled vegan options and a lot of them too! The pad Thai is amazing here. The pakoras are also really delicious. Sometimes they have a vegan sesame chicken dish that is so good too!
