Cute spot with great atmosphere. Sunshine streams in through the windows in this cozy, little cafe. It was a happening spot with enough conversations around to create a sense of privacy for our own.
The food (omelette) was below average, but the plating, atmosphere, and wait time made up for an otherwise unremarkable meal. While I didn’t enjoy the texture profile of microwaved eggs, I appreciated the attention to how they keep your wait time for food minimal and turn over tables faster as a result. Considering the popularity of the cafe, this is a great feature.
They have little local gifts at the back of the line along the wall. Perfect for grabbing Escazu chocolates for a pal after a quick coffee.
If I were to return, I’d order one of their toast options (they looked much tastier).
I absolutely adore Sola Coffee Cafe. I attend their bi-monthly pop-up markets as a vendor, and it's something I always look forward to because of the friendly staff, delicious food, amazing coffee, and overall great atmosphere. Their iced lattes are INCREDIBLE! I'm not sure what beans they use, but you can tell they're of high quality. Their food is as tasty as it is beautiful. If you haven't eaten here, go check out their website. Seriously aesthetic dishes. You gotta love a place that serves such great coffee and food and supports local artists.
We don't go often but it's a nice place to start your day. There are enough breakfast selections for any taste and a wide variety of eye opening beverage choices. When the weather is nice, sitting outside with a cup of coffee, toasted bagel, and the morning paper just seems idyllic. The neighborhood setting of this place is ideal.
BEST COFFEE AND BEST FOOD IN NORTH RALEIGH. I literally have been going everyday since I first tried it last week. The service is incredible and the staff is upbeat and friendly. I can't wait to take my family here next time they visit! Thanks Sola for being a great local cafe!
I always assumed Sola was over-hyped because I heard so much about it. My wife wanted to go for lunch one day, so I reluctantly agreed. I owe Sola an apology for not visiting sooner. Sola is NOT over-hyped; it is as good as everyone says it is.
I was really impressed with the food and the coffee. If I had visited with my eyes closed, I would have thought I was in Brooklyn or by NYU. The coffee drink my wife had was amazing. It had hints of lavender which is not something I've experienced before. It was truly a craft coffee beverage. Additionally, the salad I had with my sandwich was excellent. The thinly sliced green apples perfectly complemented the well-dressed greens.
If you are in Raleigh and want to experience a quintessential coffee house, you have to check out Sola. You won't be disappointed with the ambience, the food, the coffee and the clientele.
