Southland Steakhouse

The food was so delicious! Ms Linda was so friendly and wonderful :-) Also their pineapple upside down cake was the best ever!

Started with the crab dip, wonderful! Then the Angus Burger and fries. Cooked right. Would order again. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Formerly Fargo's Steakhouse as best I can tell. The salad bar is no longer, as are the after dinner mints. Those aside, from our grilled wings appetizer (very good), to our entrees all was overall good.

Finally got to try this place out and I was not disappointed. We usually go to Peddlers in Raleigh for steak, but it is nice to know we don't have to anymore as Southland, I thought, was just as good if not better and a heck of a lot closer nestled in Zebulon. Who says Zebulon doesn't have anywhere "nice" to eat!?!? Nice atmosphere and clean. Smiles on the hostess and waitresses faces. My prime rib was cooked perfectly accompanied by a nicely spiced horseradish sauce. Salad was fresh. Baked potato was big and they were not shy on the butter and sour cream. Beer selection was a bit short but had plenty of good choices (Red Oak, Sam Adams, etc). Wife had the salmon and risotto and was pleased. She felt the risotto was a tad bland but otherwise ok. Kid 1 had a burger....huge! He had that with some steak fries and was pleased. Kid 2 had fried shrimp and fries. I didn't try those but they looked rather large. He was also happy. Dad had scallops and risotto and they were cooked well. They are so easy to overcook and most places do. But that was not the case here. Mom also had the salmon but with broccoli and she enjoyed that as well. They were very accommodating: mom had just had a hip replacement and they were going to seat us in the middle room but she requested the room that was carpeted and had bigger more supportive chairs and they obliged after some shuffling of silverware and such. Will be back.

We've always enjoyed the food and service, the only reason I can't give it 5 starts is because there was no communication between the staff. This caused long wait time. I'm sure this is not the norm as any other time it was excellent. We will be back.
