Big Ed's North

First time in any of the Big Ed's locations, won't be the last. I had chicken pot pie, beets, collards, cornbread, and sweet potato cake. All were very good, very tasty. The collards were especially good, I wondered if they were fresh, as opposed to canned. Either way, they were seasoned well enough to remind me of my Mom's, which puts them very high in my estimation. Servers and other staff were timely, polite, and fun. If you are looking for country cooking and atmosphere, welcome home.

It was a big wait. But definitely with it. The portion size was amazing. The quality of th food was outstanding I'd come hear every day if I could. And at the end if all that the prices are really good as well..

Delicious food! First time here and the giant hot cakes did not disappoint! The bacon and sausage were also good. The service was fast and friendly, and everyone in the family loved it. We will definitely be back.

This is southern breakfast at it's best! Their biscuits are delicious! They have other food besides breakfast, but we went there for breakfast. My oldest son had a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit and I had a sausage and cheese omelette. The sausage reminded me of the kind my grandmother used when I was little...a tiny bit spicy, but in little bitty pieces in the omelette so it's in every single bite. I grew up going to Big Ed's downtown and this North Raleigh location brought back great memories. Yum!

This is a great place to go if you are looking for a fun and relaxed atmosphere that serves traditional southern cooking. I stopped in here with a business associate and we had a great experience. Staff was super friendly and they gave excellent service to our table. The food was fantastic and I will definitely be going back here. If you are in the Raleigh area and looking for some good food and place to eat that makes you feel like you are at home with friends then this is an excellent choice. The cornbread, butter beans, barbecue, cabbage and sweet tea are very good. Enjoy!!
