Nice and chic decor, warm and friendly staff !! Loved chatting with Jonathan and got to know the story behind the place. The menu and the food had scope for some improvement though the caveat is that I only tied 3 items ! I ordered the veg puff, Bombay sandwich and chai. The puff was fresh and hot, the Bombay sandwich was simple and fresh - could add more stuffings in it at the price point and probably grill it ! Chai was ok but was given in a highball glass (it was too much chai). Overall nice vibe and decent food with some scope of improvement.
What a cute find! Very tasteful Indian inspired selection of Teas, chocolates, etc.
Their food is a must try!
In their Vegan offers, liked their Samosas, Waffle Dosas, Masala fries, even their Daal & rice were yummy.
Cheeni is like being transported to parts of India! The Aloo Chaat, Keema Pav, and Dosa Waffles are my favorites. Don’t skip out on dessert either because it’s all fantastic. If Preeti has Strawberry Coriander muffins…you must get one with a cup of chai. What a special place!
Got the lamb vindaloo, buttered naan and the masala chai. Could not be happier with the service nor the quality of the food. Best vindaloo I've had in years, well seasoned and the heat was perfect. The chai was a fantasticly well rounded accompaniment to the vindaloo and cooled me off just enough to go back for more!
Looking forward to her cooking classes too :)
I’ve been coming to Cheeni for about a year, and have nothing but positive things to say. The owner is sometimes there, and she’s so nice! She’s chatted with my husband about tips for cooking Indian food.
I usually come for the chai and a few jeera cookies, as a little snack. There also used to be a masala quiche on the menu, which was amazing. Normally I’d be upset if one of my favorite things was taken off the menu, but at Cheeni it was replaced by something equally delicious - a hand pie.
Everything we’ve tried at Cheeni has been delicious, and this is a wonderful small business that we need to support in Raleigh!
