I am new to North Carolina and I wanted to try my fiancés native food so I found this lil spot! It’s a lovely food truck nestled in the Corner of the parking lot.. if you don’t know it’s there you could drive right by!
The pictures when I Goggled “Nigerian food near me” was what drew me to this location! I was greeted warmly and I ordered; plantains, Jollof rice , chicken , Egusi soup and fufu! Fast service, they set me up to eat the proper Nigerian way.. I was doing a happy dance with my first bites! It was soooo good! I got to know the owners a bit and enjoyed my beautiful Nigerian lunch .. you took me away with the amazing cuisine, kindness and company ! Good people and good food! Abeg, please try! 🙏
Visiting Raleigh, decided to find some ‘okele’ Nigerian food to eat with some of my friends. Some of the reviews were negative, but the details showed that those were done by customers who did not know what to expect and as such ordered the wrong items.
The food was delicious and very ‘authentic’. Very nice level of spice and heat, but not overly hot and spicy. Very tasty soups. The ‘efo riro’ with obe ata (vegetable soup with some red stew) was very tasty and the ‘iyan’ (pounded yam) had a great texture that seemed pounded, not blended in a food processor as is typically the case in many restaurants. I really enjoyed the food and so did my friends. We will certainly be back!
I brought their food before going back home in Chapel Hill, which is a 40 minute drive. The food was still hot!!!!!!!
Also, the owners were absolutely the nicest folks ever. I wasn’t sure what to order and the owner nicely explained to me their menu items and how their system works.
I tried their Egusi Soup and FuFu. I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!! If you’ve had a long day and don’t feel like cooking, this is definetely the place you need to stop at!!!!
This food is awesome if you want to taste traditional West African dishes. There is a great variety of choices and portions size is great for the price. This is best in town!!
