Off the charts BBQ! Forget the fact they sit in the back of a Shell Gas station. Hi-top tables, some seating outside. The place is spotless. Everything made from scratch. Huge portions and owner Hudson has as much personality as the great portions he serves up.
An easy 5 Star! Don't miss it!
This place is so good, seriously.. if you’re reading this and need convincing of a place to grab a quick bite to eat, this is it. They also gave me an extra piece of chicken and hush puppies for not wanting a drink with my meal, so that’s pretty cool.
Anyways, eat here. It’s delicious.
Amazing service right from the start. Loaded us up with a free taste of everything we had talked about getting. Everything is made that day. I dont like cookies in my banana pudding and they were sweet enough to scoop me a bowl out before adding the cookies. Will definitely be going back and would suggest it to anyone who likes good homemade food.
My girlfriend and I stopped at the food truck for Chop Shop BBQ when we were at the flea market in Raleigh, NC. Looking for some of the amazing Carolina BBQ I had heard so much about, we thought this small truck would be an excellent way to start. Don’t let the small truck fool you though, this place packs GIANT flavor. The experience started with the two individuals who had been running the truck and making the food. Their kindness and positive, upbeat personality showed me that we had made a good decision about coming to this location. They were very polite, personable and we loved talking to them!
I got their BBQ plate, a hearty portion of pulled meat with their BBQ sauce. It came with two sides, along with the best hush puppies I’ve ever had and a nice tangy, vinegary coleslaw. Good coleslaw is important to me and it certainly delivered on flavor. Speaking of delivering on flavor, if you don’t pick their Cowboy Baked Beans as one of your sides, you’re missing out on a flavor experience! Those beans were packed full of deliciousness, and had the smoothest and most amazing taste of any baked beans I have EVER had. They were so delicious my girlfriend went back to get another side of them, which we really enjoyed! The final side consisted of a cucumber salad, a simple yet delicious and light ending to a hearty and full meal! Their portions were good and my leftovers won’t be left over for long. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the Raleigh area. Their food packs flavor, variety and fun and you won’t be disappointed if you stop in to try them out!
Finally a for real North Carolina BBQ place started from a Food Truck with that became famous Now they are located as well in the Shell station on Six Forks Road just down from North Hills. Excellent quality and you just have to try Hudson's epic hushpuppies. Don't forget to ask for his sauces His prices are great and his food is excellent. This is what makes America great. Thanks, Hudson Moore.
