I was weary because of the location, but this seafood is by far the best to get in Raleigh. The atmosphere is very accepting and kind. The food will transport you to the subspace highway of amazing flavor. The plates are flexible with substituting and they have a modest menu to focus on making the most put of what they do. The prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this to literslly anyone.
This eatery is a popular African American soul food and seafood restaurant.
I've been going here for years. The owner is a very nice guy, the portions of the sides could be bigger but the prices are great, the salmon cakes and the smothered chicken are delicious the vegetables aren't cooked with pork.
Fast service. Whiting was good. Mini shrimp for the combo platter was an unpleasant surprise. Definitely in the "hood" but worth a drive. Small sides. Potato salad was OK. Greens appeared creamed but edible. Hush Puppies were perfect. Will return.
Great fried seafood, coming from a NOLA girl. Everything was good. The fish and shrimp were perfectly seasoned and the portion is great for the price. Will definitely go back, but next time for a take out order. Dine in area is small, but I can't say enough about the food. Catfish, shrimp, fries and corn bread thingies.... all were great!!!!
I had been a big fan of Mayflower, but wanted to try something different for my friend seafood. As I walked up, it smelled like heaven must smell. The staff greeted me and was super friendly. The price was a little higher, but for seafood not unusually high. I was very impressed with the food and will definitely be back. It was hot and fresh... Delicious. I wish it was closer to my home. =)
