Passed by earlier today and noticed it wasn't Steak and Shake any longer, which I didn't care for anyways. I seen a new sign. My husband wanted a burger after work so I told him about it. He was hesitant because he doesn't like Steak and Shake either. The place is definitely being renovated. U can tell they just opened. Some of the decor still is steak and Shake. I'm pretty sure this will change. Give them time. But let me tell you about my experience. We were greeted by the server, a young girl and an older lady, I presume the owner or owners wife. We took a booth
and were immediately greeted by the server. She gave us a few moments. Returned with our drinks. We placed our order. My husband had the Royal? Burbef, I believe, with the egg with fries and a sweet tea. I had a steak taco salad and a coke. My husband said his burger was amazing. The fries as well. He said his burger was much better than the steak and Shake burger. My salad was so good. The steak was tender and flavorful. The lettuce was crunchy. The male owner came over to check on us and see how everything was. We enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be returning. I wonder if they serve breakfast also.

What a great new place to have in N Raleigh! The smash burgers are delicious and they even have an assortment of options for vegetarians and children. Also, be sure to grab a Brightleaf hot dog when your craving a quick snack.

This place has delicious food, is conveniently located in N Raleigh, extremely well priced and has options for vegetarians as well! The staff and owner are extremely professional and my wife and I cannot wait to come back!

PS - Ask about the home made veggie patty! It doesn't disappoint!

Food was awesome and curly fries were great,and so were the Tater Totes. We had being some home. Love the new look.
However, there needs to be a bright yellow wall where the pale yellow wall is.

Yes, this is no longer a Steak n Shake,. Yes, they no longer have shoestring fries. Yes, the prices are a little higher., but please judge this restaurant on its own merits.
We were greeted by our same happy server that has been a staple here for years. We were there mid morning and were able to order from both the breakfast and lunch menu, which is great for my husband who doesn’t like breakfast food. Our order was taken quickly and our food was delivered within a very reasonable time.
The food is hot, fresh, and delicious! The California burger was big and juicy with lots of flavor. The tangy sauce was so good we dipped our fries in it! I ordered the egg breakfast and opted for the sausage, which was nicely seasoned without being spicy. My son ordered the egg and cheese biscuit. The biscuit was light and fluffy, with a good portion of egg on it. He loved it so much he asked if he could order a second one.
The prices are a little higher than previously, but prices on all goods have gone up drastically in the last year! And $8 for a burger and fries of this quality is still a bargain! I’d much rather support a small business than a chain.
