My husband and I had our 50th wedding anniversary celebration at Sopranos recently. This was not our first visit as we will have dinner there maybe every other month or so. Therefore, we chose this very nice restaurant since they have a private room for gatherings. Our visit was as great as always... delicious, plentiful entrees in a pleasant atmosphere with attentive and very busy (we had almost 20 in our party) servers. We have never been disappointed and were not this time. Delicious Italian food ????
Giving them a 3 because they seemed understaffed, overwhelmed and were abrasive (we were shushed and snapped at several times) but my calamari was really good. Very fresh and cooked just right. Seems like a great place for a date night but, my suggestion is if you have a large party (over 5), book way in advance, be prepared to wait and make sure you have a limited menu.
This was our first trip to this restaurant. It's a cute restaurant with reasonable prices and great food. However, the waiter was inattentive. We kept having to flag him down to ask for refills on drinks and such. That would be understandable if the restaurant was busy, but we were the only customers there (it was late afternoon between lunch and dinner). Nervetheless, we will definitely be back for a second visit.
Nice atmosphere. Wanted a Rice Ball very much, ordered it as an appitizer. My husband and I each ordered 1. The waitress did not tell us that there were 4 Rice Balls per order. If she had we would have only ordered 1 serving. The 8 Rice Balls plus dinners was too much to finish there. Lot of leftovers! The Rice Balls had a strange after taste. I was not happy with the Rice Balls. The Veal Parmesan was a bit chewy.
I love Italian food, eaten in many Italian restaurants but this is one restaurant that I will not return to.
If ever in Boston, go to the North End for a REAL ITALIAN meal.
