Tlaquepaque Mexican Restaurant

This is my favorite classic Mexican restaurant in Wake Forest. Food is always great, love the salsa, and service is usually quick. Not all Mexican restaurants are created equal, and this one is the best in town.

Unique menu offerings , good service, food was well prepared with sizable portions. Our table was a little tight, perhaps they're trying to squeeze more seating spaces into the dining room. Anyway it was a little uncomfortable. Meal specials were offered at a lower price, which is great however the lower price is achieved by taking a standard menu item removing a side, like rice, and discounting the price. What's so special about that? Sorry that ain't special, that's cheap. Finally I deducted one star because of a common problem with a lot of Mexican restaurants, the staff often come across as unfriendly. I suspect it has to do with a perceived language barrier but that's no excuse. I guess they're trying to be efficient and move people in and out but it's no way to build customer loyalty.

I was really pleased with the food quality, variety of the menu, and the fantastic service at this restaurant. We took visiting relatives (who are vegetarian) to eat, since we wanted to enjoy the fresh made table-side guacamole. They loved it, and found that it had more food items for their needs than most Mexican restaurants. :) It was a huge win! Thank you!

I was visiting from New England. The food was very good. The atmosphere was rather pleasant, although I think the tables are a bit too close. The guacamole cart was a cute novelty that I enjoyed. Service was a bit slow but pleasant. My only real knock on this place is the snail's pace the bar was operating at. Hire another bartender and it would have been a 5 star

We have been consistent patrons for the past five years. More recently it seems many changes have occurred. Many new faces. Service a little wanting. Food not quite as good. Even margaritas a little different. We love coming here, but will be a little more critical until things improve.
