I couldn't imagine a lovelier evening. Great atmosphere, music, and food...just add good friends...all is perfection.
Amazing Food! Friendly Staff! Romantic Ambience. The Jack Daniel's Steak exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to going back soon!
Beautiful setting at the Chetola Lodge. I was able to make reservation on Google very easily. Great service, incredible selection of drinks and dishes. Our food was cooked and prepared perfectly. There is also a nice patio area with a fire overlooking a lake. Convenient to Blowing Rock and Boone. When we were there they had musicians playing in the lobby area, not sure how often they have this. It really made for a great atmosphere.
The restaurant is nice and the live music is great. Really classy place, but that's the extent of the appeal. The food was decent, the service was slow, and the drinks were subpar. I had the duck breast and couldn't manage to finish it - even after three Bloody Marys (which were pretty tame). Overall, I won't be coming back here.
"What a sad experience. Four of us headed out for a special dinner on Saturday night..." Well, that's the way the review I posted started, and I went on at some length, a litany of mostly minor things that taken together, got to me. Within a day of posting my comments, I received a reply from the owner taking responsibility for and regretting my experience. I was invited to call and talk to a member of the senior staff. I did, and just had a very pleasant conversation with Mr. Moore. He expressed regret for our less than 5 star evening, specifically addressed the concerns I'd had, asked me to expand on my issues, and then told me what the management and staff had discussed and the actions they were taking. Wow. This is my idea of good management: things will happen, but it is how they are dealt with that defines that quality of the enterprise. Good on you and your team, Mr. Moore! My family and I look forward to coming back again next year! And, I'll give you 4 stars for now; I anticipate making it 5 stars for next time. Thank you.
