It's a little cinder block building, out in the middle nowhere. But the BBQ is excellent, and they have a 100 cleanliness rating. This was my first time there, but not my last.
Pretty damn good. I'm glad my brother Gary Bought me and our dad some home on his 85th and my 49th birthday.. BBQ great and butter beans..were off the chart..everything was great..thanks Grady's for nothing not changing the tradition ..
Good eats, great ride from Raleigh. The 'cue was tender and moist. I would have like a little more smoke. The hush puppies were homemade, but a little dry. Slaw was a good mix of tangy and sweet. I also had collards, which were okay; then again, I don't know what good collards should be. The dining area is small seats about 20 total, plan accordingly.
I think I have found my favorite Eastern North Carolina barbecue spot. Traditionally cooked. The right combination of spices without being too much. Excellent coleslaw. The hush puppies have just the right crunch. Out of the way for most, but worth the side trip when in the area. I think you will find reasons to be "out that way" from time to time.
The BEST Eastern style bbq around. It's a 130 mile culinary delight. Owners are great people and the sides are all home cooking. No complaints.
